Its true McCain isn't much of a conservative, then again he's certainly not a liberal, he's not even a very good centerist. McCain has historically abided wherever he thought it would benefit him. Many pols do that of course, but McCain isn't very skillful at that game either. As far as I'm concerned the GOP waived the white flag in 2008 when they ran that "too old" "too wishy washy", and "too soiled" by his "Keating Five" past sacrificial lamb candidate.

Wow, here in Maricopa County the push for Conservative Precinct Committeeman candidates had been going on for on for almost a decade when the Tea Party Movement began. That does not mean that they weren't a sight for sore eyes.

The Tea Party Movement is by no means a part of the GOP here in Maricopa County nor is the Maricopa County Republican Committee a part of the Tea Party Movement. However, there is a tremendous amount of crossover. GOP officials attend Tea Party events as participants and sometimes speakers and Tea Party people joining the ranks of the GOP.

To imply that that one group is a part of the other or Vice-versa is disingenuous at best.

My response to the Maricopa County survey:

Maricopa County needs to cut its size. Cut county government by 30% [or] more. Here is an example:

In 1982 New Zealand was the lowest in Per capita income of all the developed nations surveyed by the World Bank.[1] In 1984, successive governments began engaged in major macroeconomic restructuring, transforming New Zealand from a highly protectionist and regulated economy to a liberalized free-trade economy. Eventually the economy recovered and New Zealand’s unemployment rate reached a record low of 3.4% in the December 2007 quarter, ranking fifth from twenty-seven OECD nations with comparable data.[2] In 2009, New Zealand's economy ranked as the fifth freest in the world according the Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom.[3]

I appreciated the maps and lists of district leaders, these can be quite helpful. It might also be beneficial to include a list of the precinct captains. The words made clear that these are some of the most important people because they know the people who live around them and can make a big impact on their neighbors, but there is no way to find who they are. I would like to get to know my captain and help him, but without a name or at least contact info I can't. I emailed my district chairman, but as the site also made clear it sometimes takes a long time to get a response from them because of how busy they are. Those are my two cents.
