Presidental candidate Rick Santorum will speak at the Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC) Lincoln Day Luncheon & Straw Poll scheduled from 11 am to 2 pm, Feb. 21 at the El-Zaribah Shriner Hall auditorium, 552 N. 40th St., Phx. Today’s your last chance to purchase a ticket. The Lincoln Bust and Reagan Plaque will be awarded to exceptional precinct committeemen. Special guests: Republican National Committee Co-Chair Sharon Day, Sen. Russell Pearce, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and other leading Republicans.

Republican Debate In Mesa Takes On Higher Significance
State’s Help Limited For Unpaid Workers
Build Americas Fence has scheduled a press conference at 9:30 am, Feb. 21 on the State Senate lawn, 1700 W. Washington, seeking endorsements of the Republican primary candidates in Arizona for the Feb. 22 Presidential Debate. Sen Steve Smith will be publicly calling on the Republican Presidential candidates to support SB 1406 to raise funds for the fence for the 2,000 mile US/Mexican border. He will also ask CNN to include border security as a debate topic given its critical importance in Arizona.
Less than a third of it is fenced. Arizona continues to wait for the Obama Administration to deal with the issue and is instead sued by the federal government after passing SB1070, Arizona’s law to combat illegal immigration. Narco-violence in Mexico has claimed nearly 50,000 lives in that country. Instead of securing our border, the federal government sent firearms to Mexico in a botched investigation called Fast and Furious. Just over a year ago Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed near Rio Rico, AZ by smugglers; and two guns from the crime scene were traced to Fast and Furious. It’s been nearly two years since Rancher Robert Krentz was shot and killed at his Cochise County, Arizona ranch. It’s believed the shooter was involved in drug or human smuggling. BuildAmericasFence.com wants to send a message to the candidates, ‘Border security is not a political issue, it’s a national security issue.’ The State of Arizona passed Senate Bill 1406, to raise funds for a border fence. A coalition made up of law enforcement, attorneys, and elected officials are advancing the effort through BuildAmericasFence.com. The Outhouse: Once there was a little boy who lived in the country. The family had
to use an outhouse, and the little boy hated it because it was so hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter and smelled all the time. The outhouse was sitting on the bank of a creek and the boy was determined that one day he would push that old Outhouse straight into the creek.
One day after a spring rain, the creek was swollen so the little boy decided today was the day to push the outhouse into the creek. He found a large stick and started pushing. Finally, the outhouse toppled into the creek and floated away.
That night his dad told him they were going to the woodshed after supper. Knowing that meant a spanking, the little boy asked why.
The dad replied, “Someone pushed the outhouse into the creek today. It was you, wasn’t it son?”
The boy answered yes. Then he thought a moment and said, “Dad, I read in school today that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree and didn’t get into trouble because he told the truth.”
The dad replied, “Well, son, George Washington’s father wasn’t in the cherry tree.”
