The new site will allow Americans to learn more about Obama’s disturbing judicial philosophy and the activist judges he is appointing to carry it out.

American Values by Gary L. Bauer – Media Discover Freedom Of The Press. We have often referred to the bullying tactics of this White House and its Chicago-style politics. There have been a number of conservative leaders, including Sarah Palin, who have used similar language, and inevitably they have been attacked for allegedly crossing the line and for using overheated rhetoric in criticizing the president.
Today, in a major article in Politico, members of the sympathetic media are making the same charges. The report states that despite their liberal leanings, the media’s relationship with the “thin skinned, “controlling” and “stingy” White House has turned “surprisingly hostile.”
More and more reporters are becoming disillusioned with Obama’s broken promises of transparency. When Press Secretary Robert Gibbs recently asserted, “This is the most transparent administration in history,” reporters in the briefing room broke out in laughter. Consider the following excerpt:
“Day-to-day interaction with Obama is almost non-existent, and he talks to the press corps far less often than Bill Clinton or even George W. Bush did. … The ferocity of pushback is intense. A routine press query can draw a string of vitriolic emails. A negative story can draw a profane high-decibel phone call – or worse. Some reporters feel like they’ve been frozen out after crossing the White House.”
Print a negative story and you’re screamed at with expletives? Imagine if the press wrote a negative story about George W. Bush (which happened virtually every day) and Karl Rove had picked up the phone and yelled profanities at the reporter. Do you think it would take a year and a half to hear about it? It would have been on the news that night. The offended reporter would have become an instant celebrity for defending freedom of the press against “the authoritarian Bush regime.”
I suppose we should be thankful that some journalists are slowly discovering that freedom of the press is more important than spouting spoon-fed talking points like loyal lap dogs. At the same time, the Obama Administration’s treatment of the media is yet another disturbing example of the Left’s intolerance for dissent. “A Crime To Be Illegal” That’s the gist of the new Arizona law that has the liberal media and political establishments in apoplectic fits. Believe it or not, MSNBC actually ran a graphic with that “shocking” headline.
As George Will writes in today’s Washington Post, “Arizona’s law makes what is already a federal offense — being in the country illegally — a state offense.” So why all the outrage? The reality is that many liberal politicians support open borders and they are not bothered by illegal immigration. The federal government was not sufficiently enforcing the law, and they are outraged that Arizona just might.
Barack Obama condemned the law as “misguided” and warned that it threatened “to undermine basic notions of fairness.” Thousands took the streets in Arizona last weekend, and the protests are now spreading to other states as liberal politicians, amnesty advocates and the media frantically warn of racial profiling and Nazi-like police tactics. Never mind that the Arizona law “prohibits the use of race or nationality as the sole basis for an immigration check.” Arizona police can only conduct an immigration status check AFTER someone has been stopped for another offense.
Had other states had similar laws in place, 9/11 might have been prevented. Six of the 9/11 hijackers were here illegally and three of them had been pulled over by police for traffic violations, including ringleader Mohammad Atta. The Left’s hysterical reaction to common sense speaks volumes.
But what is most disturbing to me is that, once again, people in responsible positions in the media and in government know the facts but are choosing to use incendiary rhetoric to heighten racial tensions, causing the melting pot to boil over. First they suggested that Tea Party opposition to Obama’s socialism was racism. Now they are scaring Hispanics by telling them that Americans opposed to illegal immigration may be racists. The disgusting exploitation of racial fears for crass political purposes demonstrates just how little respect many on the Left have for their fellow Americans. VISIT AMERICAN VALUES
